Outi Headphones

First to recommend

Description

These headphones employ "bone conduction technology." What, exactly, is that, you ask? Well, so did I.

Apparently, they clip to the outside of your ear. They transmit sound as vibrations through your cartilage.

Why is this necessary?

This will enable you to listen to your music without blocking out the sounds of the world around you.

Headphones made social? Score! Well, unless you mean to keep the world out.... Then these aren't for you.

Keyboard Waffle Iron

Description

I need this if I am to achieve the goal of having the geekiest home imaginable.

And this thing... well... it's genius in that Martha Stewart meets Christopher Latham Sholes kind of way.

Description

A company in Philadelphia makes these. I saw one for the first time last night at Low End Theory at Airliner in L.A., watching Daedalus play. (Killer set, btw.)

Totally blown away by the gear.

And this thing... well... let's just say it's like Lite Brite on crack.

It has no hardwired functionality - it's completely adaptable and versatile. You plug it into your laptop and use it as a controller synced up with the application you're running on the computer. You can just as easily use it to control samples and drums as you can as a game controller. And to see it all lit up in use, going nuts - it's sick. It's the coolest thing ever. (via Cody DeMatteis)

Piano Hand Gloves

First to recommend

Description

These are gloves that use sensors to record your hand tapping and then translate the hits into piano sounds. Who needs a baby grand when you've got these babies? (via RJJ)

Rolly The Bizarre Robotic MP3 Player

First to recommend

Description

Rolly has only one button. Rolly goes on or Rolly goes off. Rolly does not do anything else. Except one thing....

Rolly has motor. You can program Rolly. And Rolly scoots around on table top to music it emits.

Rolly makes me happy.

Wine Aging Device

First to recommend

Description

So, this thing looks like an ordinary ice bucket, but supposedly this gadget will age wine and liquor. According to the designers, you can put some two buck chuck into the "Ultrasonic Wine Ager," the gizmo will "collide the alcohol molecules," and the resultant taste will be akin to drinking a bottle of pricey vintage wine... which means - if it works - this miracle bucket would end up paying for itself after only a few cases of wine. SureFire Pen

Description

From a line of tactical products, I assure you this is more than just a pen. It boasts an anodized aerospace-grade aluminum body and maintains perfect balance for writing. What intrigues me the most is the tailcap which conveniently functions as a rounded window breaker (for emergencies only!).
