I am such a jackass. For many reasons, but here's the semi-relevant one:

I have lusted after this coat in the Sundance catalog for three years. Three. Years.

Every time a catalog arrives, actually, I double-check that the coat is still in it. Just so that I can gaze at it and tell myself that I just can't splurge on one for myself right now.

But that's not what I'm a jackass. That's why I'm a coat-tease.

No, I'm an ass because in the three years that I've told myself I can't buy the coat I really want, I've spent twice that much on the combined total of all of the crappy and/or utilitarian coats I've picked up on sale racks.

Which is why, as always, you should learn from my bad example. Invest in one great-quality item that you LOVE instead of torturing yourself and just "making do" with replacements.
