Well, I finally went to the Nordstrom sale. I went for jeans. I came out with this beautiful handbag, but no jeans. So I want to talk about this instead.

It's a beautiful ombre (black to brown) in patent leather. Absolutely gorgeous. When I saw it, I didn't stop to look closely at it, but I kept thinking about it as I walked through the store. Has this ever happened? You know what that means - you'd better go back and get it, because you're officially obsessed and not going to stop thinking about it until you own it.

I love the fact that it has a removable shoulder strap. There are three magnetic closures and two zip pockets on the outside. It's a fairly large bag, which is exactly what I need, since I carry around far too much crap on a daily basis.

I have absolutely crazy frizzy hair. I mean, it frizzes whether or not it's humid, dry, or anything. While I love the frizz control that I get from this product, what I love the most about it is the tripical smell. I like my hair products to smell good! I found this hiding in the back of my beauty closet today and had completely forgotten about it. I'm glad I rediscovered it! The UV protection is so good for colored hair and the spray application is so easy.

Oh, I LOVE Franco Sarto boots. I mean, I have a serious obsession for them after purchasing my first pair last year at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Those boots get me compliments every time I put them on my feet. If you don't have a pair of suede flat boots for winter, I highly suggest you invest in a pair. I have a pair of slouchy black boots that I wore constantly last winter, and they were perfect for work, going out, just about anything I needed them for. These are more trendy, with no slouch and the pull tabs on the sides. But they are fabulous AND comfortable - two things that don't often come together.

The drop waist and the pleating make this a very mod coat - as well as the yellow color! But there are some classic stylings here that will be wearable for years to come, such as the notched collar, the military button styling, and the cuffed sleeves.

I love the way this coat flares at the waist. It's so flattering on most women. The shorter sleeves are trendy (you'll want some long gloves for winter) and the notched collar is superb.

One of the most popular looks is also one of the hardest to execute. I am always looking for good kits that I can recommend to people who are interested in the smoky eye - and it seems like everyone these days is interested.

The three main shadows are a black, champagne-cream, and light cream. Also included are three various shades of shadow that help you mix it up and go farther with your smoky eye than just black, gray, and cream shimmer. I think smoky eyes are much more interesting when there is a touch of unexpected color.

While this kit comes with two sponge/brush applicators, I almost wish it wouldn't. A good smoky eye really should only be attempted with a decent brush or three. I use an entire kit.

Look for the smoky eye to continue it's reign of popularity through the winter. I don't see this look going away any time soon.

I've mentioned before that I really do love beachy scents, especially if they smell something like suntan lotion. I also love drinks that smell like suntan lotion, too, but that's a different post that I might write up later!

My current summer scents are Bobbi Brown's Beach, Bond No. 9's Fire Island, and Monyette Paris. Love them all, and rotate them out every few days or so.

As a quick sidenote, Fire Island seems to mix really well if you have to do a quick and/or unexpected self-tanner session. I don't know why, I just know it does.

Okay, back to CB I Hate Perfume At the Beach 1966. The notes are listed as Coppertone (this makes me unreasonably happy), wet sand, seashell, driftwood and something called "boardwalk." These are blended with a new accord created just for this scent called "North Atlantic."

This might be the very first scent I have ever purchased without actually smelling it.

This is an amazing spray conditioner that can be used two ways. I used it both as a leave in conditioner after washing my hair and then again as a refresher spray. I love the concept of a refresher spray, and this fits the bill very nicely, as it doesn't dry out your hair and adds vitamins and aloe vera to calm frizzies.

Ouidad has an entire system to care for and style curls, and if you have curly hair, it's worth checking out their site. Basically, the recommend getting a cut that suits your curly hair and then washing and conditioning them with products for curly hair. Using duck clips, you can style your hair to maximize curls - but they don't really recommend blow drying your curls unless you use a diffuser sparingly.

I have extremely curly hair but I don't style it curly these days. I'm forever flat ironing and blowing it out. However, I like the idea of having the option to style it curly should I wish to do so. I may have to stop in to the salon the next time I'm in NYC!

With my love of thick, curly lashes, I should have known that Lash Injection would be a product that I would like. The formula contains elastic polymers that build on your natural lashes, creating thickness. The wand is thick and large, making application a breeze. You might find that you get some clumps when you first start using it, although you'll find that a lighter hand will help that problem immensely. When you remove it, it comes off in little "tubes," instead of just wiping off on your cotton ball - don't be alarmed.

Helpful hint: do not mix this product with Make Up For Ever's Lash Fibers. You will have a clumptastic mess that is hard to get off.

This is an amazing eye cream, and I don't say that lightly. I know there are so many eye creams out there, and I have tried most of them. But this one truly gives amazing results. This handy little tube is an excellent way to help get rid of excess oil that comes on during the day. Instead of using powder to control sebum, try smoothing on a bit of this gel instead. You can use it as often as you like, and it is far more effective at reducing shine as powder, and doesn't come with the caking issues.

Okay, this amazing moisturizer has something called 'smart sponge' technology. It has little sponges that are activated when they come into contact with facial sebum (oil) which then absorb it and keep it out of your pores, reducing congestion. Fantastic moisturizer for oily skin.

This is my secret weapon to make any old mascara an amazing one. Used as a base coat for your lashes, it will pump them up and add small fibers making them thicker and longer. It almost doesn't matter what mascara you use on top of this - it will look incredible.

Quite simply the best pencil eyeliner I have ever used. Goes on so incredibly smoothly and lasts all day. Waterproof to boot. You simply need several of these in your makeup bag.

In the spring and summer, I never go a day without using this product. I love the sheer tint of color it gives with just a touch of glimmer. Not sparkle, not shimmer, just a subtle touch of glimmer.

Absolutely the best face powder ever. Previously I was a MAC Studio Fix convert, but this powder gives a flawless finish like no other that I have seen. A little goes a long way, so this $30 container will last you a long, long time.

Another timesaver: the brush is built right in. Simply click the button and product comes through the brush. I'm liking this right now for a quick and easy application for a casual day. Doesn't deliver too much coverage, and the finish really is beautiful.

My absolute holy grail foundation product. Because my skin is somewhat oily, I start looking a bit shiny about an hour after my makeup application. This helps keep the oil slick under control and gives decent coverage too. Not too sheer, not overwhelmingly thick. Just right for my skin type.

The pump is the best part of this product, as well as the iridescent blue that you can just barely see in this product. I'm not sure that it actually does anything, but it's very pretty to look at. This is another recommendation just because of the price - you get a fair amount of product that will last you some time for a very reasonable price.

When I need to pull out the heavy armour, I reach for my Smashbox Photo Finish Color Correcting Foundation Primer in Green. It is excellent for neturalizing redness and ruddiness, especially in the cheek area. Pricey, but worth it.

One of the best primers I have found for the price Significantly cheaper than most of the brands on the market, it really does exactly as it's supposed to do. I'm rarely without a primer, and this is the one I reach for the most.
