I so truly love my Moleskine notebooks - I cherish their form and all the content I pour into them! They are totally indispensable. They do have a small flaw - their compact and trim form does not allow attachment of any writing implements. I've cheated a few times and stuck an ultra thin pen between the spine and cover but its not a perfect solution.

As usual, someone clever enough steps in to save the day.

These pen clips will work on more than just your sweet Moleskine but perform an important task: They provide a simple, clean and elegant way to attach a pen (or pencil if you wish) to the outside of your notebook. Just slip it in between the spine and cover and you're set.

Most of us have surrounded ourselves with a comfortable mix of safe and reliable tunes. Our friends probably listen to similar stuff. Its hard for new stuff to enter into our mix.

Aurgasm is one of my favorite ways to inject life into my iPod. This blog not only posts insightful reviews, it also lets you download full tracks legally. Yes, legally. The writer works with the artists and their representatives to offer these tracks for evaluation. You get to listen and hopefully you will go and buy more.

Its a great way to discover new talent and genres.

So its a fan, right? Well, not really. Its a cooling system and a space heater in one.

Big deal, there are lots of those right? Well, none like this! It eats little electricity - up to 90% less than its energy hungry cousins. It can warm the air around up up to 32 degrees and cool it by eight. Just set it up and enjoy.

Ok, so its a greener version of a space heater / cooler, right? Not quite still. It also pulls all the nasties out of the air, leaving you with just a warm / cool breeze.

Not convinced?

The filter can be cleaned and replaced - no throw-away filters that end up in a land fill. No chemicals, no weird voodoo. You'll love the atmosphere it creates, you might even forget that its on. If you do, it will turn itself off in 4 hours to save energy.

I've never liked the typical hanging flower pot. Usually plastic. Typically modeled after a traditional / classic pottery design. The look never comes off right. Always fake, very contrived.

Plantorb is neither contrived or fake. The form is clean, simple and familiar. Seeing it from below must be interesting though I would love to see a small patch of herbs suspended above a kitchen counter - ready for picking.

When I first heard for MAKU I was so excited about the design, the philosophy, the man behind it all. Alas, it was still early and word had not spread. Now you can get your MAKU fill at Velocity.

What is Maku? Its a great line of outdoor teak furniture that looks amazing. Many people take plantation grown teak and coerce it into ungodly forms. It doesnt take any great amount of skill to make something ugly. Maku furniture looks wonderfully modern and robust enough to take a few storms on the patio - or indoors.

The stuff is sustainably grown, classically assembled, well thought-out and just great!

I have a thing for clocks and Ive recently been looking to replace my vintage (circa 1990) alarm clock with something more chic. I saw this on in the MoMa store and Im in love. I'd love to wake up to these clean retro lines. The second hand sweeps the face of the clock just like a high end watch would. All the controls are analog (knobs). The face illuminates - rather the glass glows in a piercing LED-blue. The best part is the alarm. Several original compositions play at random each time you hit snooze. Its a great alternative to the nerve shattering, ear piercing sound you're probably used to.

You construct this table out of a clever cardboard design that starts out packaged flat. The table is adorable in so many ways. The shape is obviously a dream to anyone who loves simple design. Like all things IKEA, JAGGA is a great example of inexpensive functionality. This unit doubles as a storage device and a magnetic dry erase board. Oh, like all great things, it also has a clock.

You can use the compartments to charge your cell phone or MP3 player since it has a cord pass-through. Naturally, you can get funky with magnets or make your own daily art.

I just love the plain white face with the simple clock in contrast with the brightly colored compartments.

Who couldn't use a point in the right direction? These simple modular occasional tables are so fun! One on its own looks like the ubiquitous arrow design we have seen so much of online. Simple, geometric and peaceful. The pattern conjures images of a painstakingly maintained zen garden. The concentric squares remind me of West Elm's beautiful carved wood tile wall art pieces they introduced a couple of years ago.

I can see this rug being used to create a luscious sanctuary.

I love all things modular... this love affair does not end with carpeting. When Interface, the world's largest manufacturer of carpet and pioneer in sustainability introduced FLOR, a fabulous modular carpet tile system I was thrilled. Now, its available at Target in 4 styles.

FLOR tiles are arranged to your taste in almost any room. Each square tile measures 19.7". The tiles can be cut to fit special spaces. A light adhesive holds the corners in place on hard surfaces. Each tile can be removed, washed or replaced easily without disturbing adjacent tiles. Should you wish to do so, you can take FLOR with you when you move!

The price at Target doesn't necessarily make them more affordable - a six pack is $59.99 vs. $9.99 per tile at DWR. The six pack is enough to make a rather large area rug. Different designs / patterns can be mixed to make unique layouts.

Target seems to have an exclusive design though more styles are available at DWR. Still, if nothing else, this will expose more people to FLOR.

The Graphic Bee Console is a work of art designed by Iannone Sanderson in Philadelphia. Though sleek and minimal, its also fun and wonderfully crafted from a great combination of materials. Underneath a slick white gloss laminate is a frame made of kirei board, a kind of engineered wood made from the depleted stalks of Sorghum grass. Heat, pressure and a non-toxic adhesive are combined to make this lightweight but durable board. Cut into the face of the laminate is the image of a small bee hiding among large silhouettes of chrysanthemum flowers. This image reveals the beautiful texture of the kirei board. Not to be forgotten or played down, the legs are simple and elegant - made from stainless steel and more kirei.

I make few exceptions for trendy wine glasses - certainly no color, no swirls, bubbles or glitter are allowed. My belief is that the glass should not take away from the wine - period. Still, I cannot turn away from the Essence glasses by one of my favorite glass makers in the world: iittala! Because Essence is so uniquely simple and elegant, you wont need as many glasses as you would normally (hint, hint, the reason behind the name). This design would look great in alost any setting, certainly helping to elevate the overall decor.

Essence includes glasses for red and white wine, a champagne flute and a cute cordial glass.

Crate & Barrel knows how to shake things up with good design but now they are raising the standard of how environmentally friendly furniture should be. The Lockport Apartment Sofa is a clean and casual design with lots to love on the inside (mostly how its made). Recycled fibers, soy foam cushions, water based finish and sturdy but sustainably forested frame come together to make a comfy piece of furniture that is easy to feel good about.
