Punk Goes Acoustic 2

"I love the whole Punk Goes series, but this is probably my favorite. So great! +44's acoustic version of Baby Come On is the highlight for me, but they are all pretty damn good!"
VAN MORRISON: I'll Be Your Lover, Too: MP3 Downloads

"Fellas, if you're serious about your woman (and I don't care who you are or where you're from), learn how to play guitar, sit your lady down and play her this song. She will be yours."
Changing Horses: Ben Kweller
1 recommendation
"This, the fourth (real) album from Ben Kweller lives yp to the name he's made for himself. It's poppy and fun and easy listening. For the me the highlight comes with "Sawdust Man.""
The Rebirth of Venus: Ben Lee
1 recommendation
"I guess if you're a fan of Ben Lee, then you'll be overwhelmed with joy to know that his newest album is out in Feb. It's overly poppy and slightly corny, but there was definitely some head bobbin when I listened to it. In short, if you're into this pop, acoustic, low key kind of music, I think you'll really get behind this one."
Noble Beast / Useless Creatures (Deluxe Edition): Andrew Bird
1 recommendation
"So, i was all excited about the new Andrew Bird album that i just hopped on and bought it, without ever considering the fact that there was a deluxe edition. The was, this is it and it contains 5 extra songs. i haven't heard them, but if they're anything like the others, they'll be more than worth the few extra bucks."
Noble Beast: Andrew Bird
1 recommendation
"With his 8th studio album, Andrew Bird pull through with (at least close to) his best performance yet. It's the typical indie folk rock you'd expect, but you'll inevitably be bobbing your head."
Fire on Fire: MP3 Downloads: Fire on Fire
1 recommendation
"This Portland (Maine) band puts out some serious music with this 5 song Ep. It's up beat and fun, with a bit of depressing topics mixed in. Sound about par for your iPod, then you'll love this one."
Farewell Good Night's Sleep » Lay Low
1 recommendation
"What a lovely surprise from Iceland! Lay Low is one gal, who plays honest songs that are sometimes indie pop twee, folksy, bluesy, and at times even with a genuine hint of Nashville. Her voice is sweet, similar to her countrywoman Emiliana Torrini. Give it a whirl."
Me∂ Su∂ I Eyrum Vi∂ Spilum Endalaust: Sigur Ros
2 recommendations
"Their most recent foray finds the Icelandic band -- known for its inctricate, dense and intense compositions -- at their most spare. Piano and voice, guitar and voice. Many people have been critical of this album, but i think it's gorgeous. It's nice to see them progressing and evolving."

"This Gibson acoustic guitar crafted from sustainably harvested wood will make a true guitar hero out of someone who is serious about both music and the planet. Good green gifting."
Animal Years: Josh Ritter
1 recommendation
"Be it a bit cliche, Josh Ritter (mainly this album) is a fun listen. The entire thing is completely listenable. The highlight definately comes on track four with "Good Man.""
From A Basement On The Hill: Elliott Smith
1 recommendation
"Incomplete at the time of his death, the album would have , undoubtedly been a disappointment to him. However, it was left in the hands of family and friends to finsih and it's actually one of my favorite Elliot Smith Albums"
Welcome to the Cruel World: Ben Harper: Music
2 recommendations
"It's the second album from Ben Harper and was released in the early nineties. Most of the songs on this one are significantly less recognizable than those on Fight for Your Mind. However, I think they do a beautiful job setting the stage for the subsequent album. Best tracks: waiting on an angel, mama's got a girlfriend now"
Fight for Your Mind: Ben Harper
1 recommendation
"I'll be the first to admit that I, basically, Idolize Ben Harper. His old stuff is easily some of my favorite music ever. This, his 3rd album has some of the all-time classics, like oppression, by my side and burn one down. ...It's probably my favorite of his."
Under the Table and Dreaming: Dave Matthews Band
1 recommendation
"I was only 10-years-old when this album came out. I can't say for sure, but I think it was the firt album that I truly fell in love with. Probably because it was the absolute prime of everyone's favorite band."
1.22.03.Acoustic: Maroon 5

"I'm blushing even writing this review. Maroon 5, what? Geez Chad, you're musical integrity and taste must be slipping. Oh well, I like this acoustic album, it's fun and I think it's perfect bike riding music."
Sublime Acoustic: Bradley Nowell & Friends
1 recommendation
"I'm not going to lie, this is probably some of my all time favorite Sublime and it's not even, technically, Sublime. However, the accoustic versions are unbelievable. Best song --Rivers of Babaylon."
The Moldy Peaches: The Moldy Peaches
1 recommendation
"None of us had heard of the Moldy Peaches until Juno. It's okay. However, I think people should know that they actually have (had) more than one song. This is a full album of songs that are all sound similar to "Anyone Else But You.""
Open Season: Feist

Iron & Wine: Woman King: Iron & Wine: Music
1 recommendation
"I've never been some huge fan of Iron & Wine. Don't get me wrong, Samuel Beam and his music is great. I've just never been fanboyish about it. However, this EP is one for the ages. There's six songs and they're all perfect. Check it out."
Fleet Foxes

"This is one of the albums I can't stop listening to. No, they're not some weird experimental progressive band, but I still have trouble tying to box them into a particular genre. So, I wont. I'll just say this, I really like 'em and it's a good album. A great album, really."
