"Of course, it's the iconic story from John Stenbeck's 1932 novel. When it comes to watching it, you have 3 options and I suggest this one. Though newer doesn't always (in fact usually doesn't) mean better, in this case, it does."
Where the Wild Things Are - Film Release

"This movie has been in production since 2004! Its directed by Spike Jonze and co written by Dave Eggars. The icing on the cake is the costumes and creature effects have been done by the Jim Henson Creature shop, which means minimal CGI and actual costumes. Yay! If all goes well, which it seems like it hasn't, this movie should hit theaters in October of 2009."
Little House on the Prairie: The Complete Television Series

"You know, $200 is not a bad price for a box set of the entire series. Especially since it was on for a million years. However, in this recession, I'll have to hold off for now. Great show for the entire family that covered complex themes."

Dreamchild

"I loved this version. It begins with an elderly Alice (who the story was based on) on her way to the U.S. to participate in a celebration of Lewis Carol and his books. The movie then segues into flashbacks of her childhood and the fantasy world. This version was a bit darker. The puppets (made by Jim Henson's Workshop) were kind of scary and nightmarish."
Alice Through the Looking Glass

"This film adaptation is a U.K. version from '72. I wasn't immediately familiar with it, but was sure I had seen it at some point in my life. After looking at some stills I realized I had seen it eons ago. Its a musical version and stars Dudley Moore (that was the only actor I could recognize by name) Oh, and Peter Sellers (The Pink Panther). From what I remember, this movie was better than the NBC..."

"A Ben stiller Movie that maybe a lot of people haven't seen. Its a good one.
