Japanpopshow: Curumin
1 recommendation
"Curumin is a Brazilian musician, born to Spanish/Japanese parents. His style is sometimes called samba-funk, and it incorporates many jazz, bossa nova, and hip-hop elements as well. "JapanPopShow" is an extension of musical influences that only begins to summarize all that is Curumin, from his ethnic background to the soul of his home in Sao Paulo, and brings to the rest of the world a most incred..."
Momento: Bebel Gilberto: Music

"This is one of my favorite albums/artists. Bebel's songs are the ultimate cure to S.A.D., and in the summer, I can think of no music more appropriate for relaxing with a margarita, or 4."
Morelenbaum Sakamoto Casa
1 recommendation
""Casa" is a wonderful take on the music of Jobim. Unncumbered and colorful "Casa" is created from the talent, and musical vision of Morelenbaum (2) and Ryuichi Sakamoto. "Casa" flows into floating melodies and breezy song, I'm taken away into that world every time."
Kiko Navarro - Perceptions of Pacha
1 recommendation
"I really love that music that takes you away. This CD reminded me in parts of some of the remixes from Bebel Gilberto, even though this artist is from Spain (not Brazil). CD is all over the place stylistically - disco, samba, latin and then into tech-house but overall flows beautifully. It has a very live feel to it and reading the liner notes, looks like there were a lot of players on this album."
Nouvelle Vague - Bande a Part

"While I'm not a big fan of artists that do covers, Nouvelle Vague's Bande a Part has become an exception. The album is exceptional. The music style is "Bossa Nova" and their spin on the covers they did are amazing. I still have not been able to identify who does the female vocals, but they are seductive, sultry and just absolutely beautiful. If you are a fan of Bossa, this is a must have album..."
