A decade ago, Vera Lehndorff performed and transmitted her role as the cliche model in collaboration with Andreas Hubertus Ilse as documentary photographer. Veruschka Self-Portraits were created to represent this fictional character posing for the camera as a series of off-beat personalities. The exhibited vintage photographs show different aspects of Veruschka in eccentric, custom-made costumes. Here she can be seen exploring the boundaries of personality, whether as a trans-gendered male intellectual, a streetwise rapper, a Hollywood superstar, or her own glamorous alter-ego, Veruschka.
