Thrivemix: Presents Electro, Vol. 2 Mixed By LA Riots
2 recommendations
"If you love the Electro/House genre, then this mix by LA Riots will definitely be on your heavy rotation list! I can't get enough of these guys as I always enjoy to see them mix live, but listening to this mix brings back memories of the good times I had at their parties."
Greatest Hits: Guns N' Roses
2 recommendations
"It's hard to remember sometimes, ut before Alx Rose went completely off his rocker, he helped contribute to some really enduring rock songs. Yes, at times they epitomized what was bloated and wrong about 80s excess, they also produced some undeniably good tunes. Some of them are not written by them, also true, but the Rolling Stones covers on the album do transform the song instead of slavishly ..."
Intersections 1985-2005: Bruce Hornsby
1 recommendation
"This box set was included in the ticket price when I saw Hornsby in concert the other year. It's a great box set I discovered though, packed with material from throughout his long career. He's great in concert as well, with terrific banter between himself and the audience. If you ever get a chance to see him perform, I'd take it in an instant."
Greatest Hits: The Ramones
2 recommendations
"There's so much good Ramones material, so it has to be so hard to whittle down to one album. This is a very good collection of some of their strongest material. There's ton of really catchy, quick and pumping tunes. A great compilation, and sure to get your energy up when you need it."
The Cure - Galore : The Singles 1987-1997
3 recommendations
"If i had to keep only 2 CD's in my Cure collection (gosh, so hard!), i'd definitely pick "Staring At The Sea" and "Galore", which contain all the singles released by the band from 78 to 97. The Greatest Hits album is good, don't get me wrong, but it's missing classics such as "Charlotte Sometimes", "A Letter to Elise" and "Fascination Street". These are excellent to discover their music too."
The Future Is Unwritten: Joe Strummer

Bob Marley & Friends ~ Bob Marley
1 recommendation
"Variation is good, especially when it comes from musicians who's songs are as additive as they are crucial, Bob Marley is one of the few in this category. Lucky for me he and his friends have recorded a host of songs as well as different versions of those same song, which means I'm still discovering new ways of enjoying the Marley sound. "Bob Marley & Friends" is a 29 track collection featuring..."
Jump, Jive an' Wail: The Essential Louis Prima
1 recommendation
"Two reasons I love this disk: One, it's a recent 2007 release, which means it might have better audio than previous collections from say 1997. Two "Jump, Jive an' Wail" contains my favorite Louis Prima Keely Smith duet, the irresistible "That Old Black Magic "!!"
Rolled Gold + ~ Rolling Stones
1 recommendation
""Rolled Gold +" is for people like me, I actually like the various best of's the Stones have put out over the years. Like their live shows the song selection "Rolled Gold" are put together with care. Anyway "Rolled Gold +" is an extended version of the original 1975 "Rolled Gold" and a smooth and sexy typographic cover design by Barcelona designer Alex Trochut. Some of my favorite cuts: I Wa..."
Morceaux de Choix ~ Brigitte Fontaine
1 recommendation
""Morceaux de Choix" is a collection of eclectic songs which drifts in and out of various styles. I tend to think of Brigitte Fontaine as a Jazz artist, but I'll accept that Fontaine's music is written as if it where a lyrical landscape in which Fontaine explores her quixotic expression. As for my taste this method of artistry works very well, as I always have an ear out for music which expands the..."

Songs For the Young At Heart
1 recommendation
"Like the films of Guillermo del Toro and the stories of Roald Dahl, Songs For the Young At Heart is whimsical and magical while being poignant and oh-so-slightly sinister. When I was a kid, Puff the Magic Dragon used to make me so sad but that made me love it more! It's a reminder of what childhood is and was - that purity and innocence - but with an edge, so it works for you, your parents and you..."
