Corey Lynn Calter Cyril Funnel Neck Top in Gold
1 recommendation
"Corey Lynn Calter's designs a postmodern mix of elegance and innovation. Calter shines in bringing eclectic patterns to life on unconventional fabrics. The Cyril Funnel Neck Top is the perfect retro piece. Made from a midweight sateen cotton, it has a box-top fit, 3/4 subtle bubble sleeves and a funnel neckline. Its exaggerated houndstooth print adds the finishing touch."

Grosse Pointe Blank (1997)

"Martin Blank (John Cusack) is a professional assassin. He is sent on a mission to a small Detroit suburb, Grosse Pointe, and, by coincidence, his ten-year high school reunion party is taking place there at the same time. In one of the best written and smartest comedy, John Cusack gives a character and situation so good, you actually wish for a sequel. A great, great movie."
Say Anything - DVD

"Before Cameron Crowe made his fortune with Jerry McGuire, there was this little film. (Of course, "Singles" is a pretty good Cameron Crowe movie too, but the chances of "cuddly-time" aren't as high with that film as they are with this one.) Chicks may love Meg Ryan movies, but it's our guess they'll love this one also. This is by far one of the best romantic tear jerkers of the 80's! It's so sweet..."
Red Horseshoe: The Red Book

"Red Horseshoe makes some very cool gifty things; my favorite is the Red Book. On the front it says Russian Notebook in Cyrillic. On the back there is ) Roman to Cyrillic alphabet decoder. The prononciation descriptions are not exact, but no matter! This is a well-designed little notebook, and they have a ton of others to choose from, including larger 5x7 notebooks."

Bullets Over Broadway (1995)

"Set in 1920's New York City, this movie tells the story of idealistic young playwright David Shayne. Producer Julian Marx finally finds funding for the project from gangster Nick Valenti. The catch is that Nick's girl friend Olive Neal gets the part of a psychiatrist, and Olive is a bimbo who could never pass for a psychiatrist as well as being a dreadful actress. Agreeing to this first compromise..."

High Fidelity

"John Cusack at his dry, self-effacing best, as a hopeless bachelor with a yen for vinyl - records, that is. Carried many a high school nerd through the difficult years. Palatable production values, attractive players, and a not-yet-patently-offensive Jack Black make this an easily digested watchover."
Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs: A Low Culture Manifesto by Chuck Klosterman

"Easily my favorite pleasure read. I couldn't put this book down once I started the first sentence. It is a collection of essays on pop culture and America. It is a manifesto for "Gen X-ers" and though I am not one of them I really relate to and enjoy Klosterman's take on what it is like to grow up and enter adulthood these days. My favorite chapter is the one about John Cusack - you'll love it too..."

High Fidelity - Soundtrack

""High Fidelity" is a great movie, but it's soundtrack is perhaps even better. No surprise here, because the movie is about a dude who owns a used record store. My favorite songs from this eclectic collection are Sheila Nicholls' "Fallen For You" and "Who Loves The Sun" by Velvet Underground. Also check out Jack Black singing "Let's Get It On' and a song named "Lo Boob Oscillator"."

"Late 80's John Cusack/Tim Robbins goodness. I'm sure you have certain movies that trigger atmospheric recollections that leave you all warm and fuzzy.... this is one for me. I was an undergrad at Northwestern 89-93 and Saturday mornings were about lounging around in darkened rooms at the Pike frat house before doing the walk of shame home, eating cold Dominos pizza and watching this and Star T..."
