"I'm a sci fi geek so I'll see this regardless. Its a deep space horror/ thriller about a crew that wakes up with no memory on an abandoned ship. Madness insues. It stars Dennis Quaid (who I'm pretty indifferent about) and Ben Foster (3:10 to Yuma) who I actually thing is one of the best young actors of his generation. Is that really saying much though? Anyway, I'll be in the theater to see this on..."
From Dusk Till Dawn

"This movie is awesome! It's nerve wracking horror at its finest. I've excused most of the crap George Clooney has done based on the fact that he has done less than a handful of highly exceptional films. This is one of them. This vampire, horror extravaganza is directed by Robert Rodriguez and stars Juliette Lewis, Harvey Keitel, Quentin Tarantino, Jim Brown, George Clooney, Salma Hayek and Cheec..."

"One two, Freddie's coming for you...well, i'd be scared to put this up at my window because I think having Freddie in my window will encourage kids to egg my windows even more!"
Mr. and Mrs. Oldclot Gortrait

"This nice couple turn into uncle fester lookalikes...only they look creepier, depending on the angle you look at them from. They do a ton of other portraits that are like this too. You could have a creepy portrait gallery in your house this halloween!"
Ghoul Drool Glow Spray
1 recommendation
"I used this in my big picture windows.. I made stencils of ghosts, bats, etc and sprayed them in. I place a long blacklight on the window ledge and the glow was VERY bright. Lasted until I scraped it off. Only problem was I applied it too thickly at first and had some running issues with the direct sun. Better to apply thin coat, allow to dry fully, then apply more layers gradually."

Scary Lab Assistant

"Every mad scientist needs a groveling assistant. This hunchbacked Lab Assistant rocks back and forth, holding a brain, and speaks. Watch out - he sometimes farts! But he'll apologize, saying 'Sorry Master.' LOL He costs almost 10k though...but i bet it's worth it!"
Doctor Infested Rotator
1 recommendation
"A science fiction style prop with out of this world animation. Full size character prop comes complete with insect alien bursting out of his head, bloody clothes, stand, and motor. Upper torso rotates with freaky, zombie-like movement. This costs $1,450.00 - way more than my Halloween party budget!"

The Ghost and the Darkness

"Ok, this movie is based on a true story that is sooo weird I'm not sure what is truth and what is embellishment. However, I do know for a fact that the two lions that this movie is about are stuffed and on view at a museum somewhere in Chicago. Ok, so here it goes. Once upon a time when the African landscape was be ravaged by European industry (via the construction of a huge railroad system) two..."
Roots: The Saga of an American Family
1 recommendation
"I don't know a single black family that didn't have a copy of Roots in their house. This isn't the cover I remember. It had a white sleeve with big brown texts. This is recommended reading for all Americans and anyone interested in American history. Not just the history that sings of freedom but ignores its huge history of chattle slavery. An economic practice that has far reaching psychological a..."
Beloved - Movie

"This story and subsequent movie freaked me out. Maybe I was too young at the time to read the book, but seeing the movie as an adult didn't make this story easier to swallow. The story is about an ex slave haunted by the trauma and terror of her past life. Having been brutalized savagely by her slave masters, she made a desperate choice which resulted in the death of her own children. Now, with ..."

"I'm not afraid of the dark either. At least, I'm not when it's light outside. I'd really rather be inside with the lights on when it's dark outside. That is all."
Wait Until Dark

"Take heed of the title and wait to watch this one until it's dark outside, and do it with all the lights out. A thriller about a blind lady, some psycho guys, and a doll full of illegal substances... sounds like the perfect movie for a sleep-over. You know, if I still had sleep-overs..."
The Dark Knight

"One of most anticipated movies of 2008; "The Dark Knight" was sadly marked by the death of Heath Ledger. About "The Dark Knight" Continuing on from events in 2005's "Batman Begins". With the mass release of Arkham Asylum's criminally insane patients, and Carmine Falcone's god-like hold on the city's underworld shattered, Gotham City's underworld has been thrown into disarray with three warring..."

Dead Alive

"You are silly if you pass up Peter Jackson's masterpeice "Dead Alive", also known as "Brain Dead". A great zombie film including a zombie priest and an old woman stomping on a monkey's head. The violence is so fake though, people will be laughing more than screaming. Which is a good thing. You'll love it."
Primal Fear (1996)

"Clever twists and a bona fide surprise ending make this an above-average courtroom thriller, tapping into the post-O.J. scrutiny of our legal system in the case of a hotshot Chicago defense attorney (Richard Gere) whose latest client is an altar boy (Edward Norton) accused of murdering a Catholic archbishop. The film uses its own manipulation to tell a story about manipulation, and when we fin..."
Cape Fear (1962)

"Superior to Martin Scorsese's punishing 1991 remake, this 1962 thriller directed by J. Lee Thompson (The Guns of Navarone) stars Robert Mitchum as a creepy ex-con angry at the attorney (Gregory Peck) whom he believes is responsible for his incarceration. After Mitchum makes clear his plans to harm Peck's family, a fascinating game of crisscrossing ethics and morality takes place. This movie is a m..."
