Stubbs the Zombie: The Soundtrack

"This 2005 video game sound track takes songs from around the 50s and has indie bands redo them. The highlight clearly is clearly the Flaming Lips singing "If I only had a brain." Ben Kweller with "lollipop" is pretty fantastic, as well."
Christmas On Mars (CD/DVD): The Flaming Lips
1 recommendation
"Seeing that it was shot over a seven year period by middle-aged men, I would expect very little fluidity in appearance. It was made by Wayne Coyne and the flaming lips. So, expect about the most ridiculous thing to ever hit the big screen (kind-of)."
Okie Noodling

"This is a real movie and real people actually catch really really ridiculously large fish with their arms. It takes place in small town Oklahoma and is more a story of the people and it's sad and endearing."
Zaireeka: The Flaming Lips: Music
1 recommendation
"This is the eighth album from the greatest band in the world, The Flaming Lips. It's their 8th album, with a catch. It's actually comes on 4 different cds, you track down 4 cd players and hit play at the same time. Sure, you can buy the combined single disk now, but really it's not nearly as fun."
Amoeba Music Video Gallery

"In 2008 there were only 3 Amoeba Music Stores--the last real record stores on the Earth. What is remarkable is the live concerts that take place in the store several times a week (at Amoeba Music in Berkeley, San Francisco and Hollywood). And what more is that Amoeba has "FREE" video gallery on Ameoba.com featuring interviews, as well as exclusive live shows."
Various Artists - Attic Jam
1 recommendation
"When the Who were on tour last year, Pete's girlfriend Rachel Fuller, joined them for the ride and recorded some great artists jamming with them along the way. A wide variety of artists playing their own music, or covering the Who. From Martha Wainright to Death Cab for Cutie and the Raconteurs. Really neat idea."
Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur

"Good music for a good cause. The roster of artists who contributed to this album reads like a who's-who of rock. Yes, there are some disposable tracks on here as well, but there's something for just about everyone's taste. If you like John Lennon (or even if you aren't that familiar with his work) it's a good album to get."
The Flaming Lips - The Fearless Freaks

"The greatest documentary ever filmed? Even if you're not a fan of the Flaming Lips, you WILL be after you see this film. Bradley Beesley was neighbor to bandleader Wayne Coyne during the earlier years of the Flaming Lips. As a film-guy, he became the de facto director of all their music videos. But even when they weren't shooting a video, the cameras were still rolling... this documentary gi..."

"The most hauntingly beautiful album you'll ever hear... every second is bliss."
Know Your Mushrooms

"I think I'd be surprised if this one didn't have a soundtrack by The Flaming Lips. Indeed, it does. And the fact that they've given their musical stamp of approval, I think it's due time to check out."
Sumday: Grandaddy
1 recommendation
"Jason Lytle outdoes himself both on the sounds and songwriting put to tape on Sumday. To be fair, I like everything Grandaddy has done but I find this album great all the way through. In the same way Moon and Antarctica by Modest Mouse or Soft Bulletin by The Flaming Lips can be listened to without skipping again and again."
The Flaming Lips Tee

"You want my opinion, you should really just pick up a Lips t-shirt at the show. However, if for some crazy lame reason you can't make it to a show, this should suffice."
Puddle City Racing Lights

"I was lucky enough to stumble upon this new artist when I was stranded at the HMV record store at Ikebukuro station. I had nothing to do for like a couple hours so I decided that I would sample every CD listening station they had. When I got to Windmill it just (pun intended) blew me away! The music is just so pure."
