"If you haven't been camp you don't know how necessary headlamps are. Yeah, you may think they look silly, but you try walking through the woods to a latrine with a flash light... and where you gonna put that flash light while you go? Ever think of that?"

"This is for you late night/early morning bikers. If you bike to work when it's still dark, you need to see where you're going. This light fastens onto your helmet, so it shines where ever you are looking. Plus the battery can be charged from your computer via a usb on the light."

"This might be the most important item to bring to Burning Man after a tent and lots of water. It might even be more important than your tent as it allows you to set up your tent in the dark if you get there in the middle of the night,. Being able to perform tasks without using one of your two hands to hold a flashlight is a jo. This particular light has a thin zip line instead of a strap to hol..."

"You will be setting up camp in a temporary city that runs only on generators and batteries - this means there are no street lights. You will be immobile without a light mechanism, so if you try, it is possible you will get hit by a bicyclist or an art car. Not a good idea because there's so much art to see, you'll want to stay the entire week. There are less expensive headlamps for around $20...."

"We must have six or eight at our house. I have been very sorry before, more than once (slow learner) to get stuck on or descending from a climb without one. We have a BD LED-incandescent combo, a Petzl Myo 3, and various old ones, including a Wal-mart type thing that my kid got for his birthday. It wasn’t bad."
