"This movie has been in production since 2004! Its directed by Spike Jonze and co written by Dave Eggars. The icing on the cake is the costumes and creature effects have been done by the Jim Henson Creature shop, which means minimal CGI and actual costumes. Yay! If all goes well, which it seems like it hasn't, this movie should hit theaters in October of 2009."

"I loved this version. It begins with an elderly Alice (who the story was based on) on her way to the U.S. to participate in a celebration of Lewis Carol and his books. The movie then segues into flashbacks of her childhood and the fantasy world. This version was a bit darker. The puppets (made by Jim Henson's Workshop) were kind of scary and nightmarish."
