Free Speech - "Calisthenix" CD
3 recommendations
"I love this CD. Los Angeles duo Free Speech and Nameles bring you selections from their pre-'06 body of work. Their stylings are a definite departure from what we're used to hearing from CA-based urban artists. 25+ tracks of quality hip-hop. OkayPlayer slapped a 4 out of 5 rating on it."
Black Milk - Popular Demand 2XCD (Includes Broken Wax Instrumentals CD)
1 recommendation
"This is the instrumental version of Detroit producer Black Milk's "Popular Demand" album released in 2007. It's extremely solid. Black Milk's production is a breath of fresh air and helps fill the void left after J Dilla's passing."
The Wackness-Music From the Motion Picture

"There. are. no. words. except maybe TITE. includes: The What- B.I.G. You Used to Love Me - Faith Evans Summertime - Jazzy Jeff and the artist formerly known as the Fresh Prince Can't You See - Total & Biggie The World is Yours - NAS Can I Kick It? - Tribe Called Quest BUMP N GRIND BY R.KELLY and other epic tracks of the early 90s...."
Cypress Hill - Cypress Hill
1 recommendation
"Cypress Hill made this phenomenal debut album in 1991 and then kind of died a slow death from there. Cypress Hill combines funk, hip-hop, gangsta rap and humor into music. Now that hip-hop has moved into the era of boasting about ownership of material objects, it would be nice if they could incorporate some decent sampling so I wouldn't have to turn to albums from the 90s all the time."
Tha Eastsidaz - Snoop Dogg Presents Tha Eastsidaz
1 recommendation
"The singles that came off this track are so hot that they might burn your ears by simply listening to them. Make sure you listen to Snoop and by only blazing chronic and raising up Chevys."
Snoop Dogg - Tha Last Meal
1 recommendation
"It's definitely no Doggystyle nor is it a Doggfather but it doesn't matter this album still bangs. "Lay Low" is one of my favorite, most quoted and most memorable rap songs."
Xzibit - Man Vs Machine
2 recommendations
"A really solid album, Xzibit's MVM album was a more mainstream approach to his traditional brash underground street style. A really cool song on the album is Choke Me, Spank Me (Pull My Hair) because Xzibit alters his singing voice to sound a lot like DJ Quik."
Xzibit - Restless
1 recommendation
"Hot damn was this a good album or what?!?!? Xzibit tore up the radio stations with this one, his breakthrough album. I think he started to deteriorate after this point but his next album was still really good. Listen to "Get Your Walk On.""
213 - The Hard Way
1 recommendation
"Take the laid back drawl of Snoop Dogg, mix in a Westcoast All Star like Warren G and add a smooth talking mack daddy like Nate Dogg and you have 213; the baddest rap group ever assembled since the Westside Connection. These guys bring back that old g funk feel and Nate Dogg's vocals create the catchiest choruses in the industry. Sooooo gooood!"
Eminem - The Eminem Show
1 recommendation
"Unfortunately this was Eminem's last great CD and it kind of marks the beginning of the end for him. This album was way more serious then his previous two as he is more of an introspective MC rather than a full blown pyschopath. Good times Eminem, good times."
Eminem - The Marshall Mathers LP
2 recommendations
"This is Eminem's second CD and I believe his most successful. He really nails this one. This CD and Dr. Dre's 2001 were the perfect mix to start off the 2K era. It almost seemed like the 2000's were going to have a lot more potential but unfortunately things don't always finish as they start."
The Game - Doctor's Advocate
1 recommendation
"This CD usually gets a lot of flak for not being as good as The Documentary but I think all of that is rubbish. Sure Dr. Dre didn't produce this CD and it didn't sell nearly as many copies but if you were to actually listen to FULLY listen to both CD's (not just the singles) you'd find that this is a far more rounded CD. Personally, I like both of them equally."
Tha Dogg Pound - Dillinger & Young Gotti
1 recommendation
"I have bumped the songs of this Dogg Pound (now known as D.P.G. for legal issues) CD since it's release in 2001. Unfortunately it didn't sell many records but there are some really great hip hop classics on this album. Try listening to "Coastin'" if you want a high paced, g funk party starter....."
The Cool Kids - Rockabilly / Big Beat / Hip Hop
1 recommendation
"Introducing.. The Cool Kids! They redefine the true meaning of hip hop with their fun tracks, such as "gold and a pager" and "action figures" If you like Lupe Fiasco, you will enjoy The Cool Kids"
Birdman & Lil Wayne - Like Father, Like Son
1 recommendation
"Sorry kids but the album title is decieving Birdman and Lil Wayne are not father and son. In fact, they aren't even related (although they did make out....check it out on Google). However this dynamic duo kicks some serious butt.....scratch that, Lil Wayne kicks serious butt and Birdman kind of gets really high and talks about cool stuff. Great album nonetheless, "Cali Dro" is about California's p..."
Kurupt - Space Boogie: Smoke Oddessey
1 recommendation
"My older brother and his friends were in love with this cd and I couldn't help but following suit. Kurupt is great when he raps with Tha Dogg Pound but his solo work is really cool too.....I really reccomend the title track, "At It Again" and "Da World.""
The Game - The Documentary
3 recommendations
"I remember this dropping in high school and revitalizing the Westcoast Gangster Rap. This is a staple of anyone who loves rap, especially if they love Westcoast rap. GREAT CD!"
Lil Wayne - Da Drought 3
1 recommendation
"Weezy Wee!!!! I don't want to be hasty with my judgement but I might be willing to say that Lil Wayne might be the best rapper to emerge out of the 2000 era. Anyways, Da Drought 3 is one of the best mixtapes I've ever heard, Wayne uses all sorts of samples and just smashes songs up with his signature emotional flowstyle and hilarious musings."
Big Tymers - I Got That Work
1 recommendation
"This album really cemented Cash Money Records as an emerging hip hop powerhouse. The flows on this album are addictive and incredibly memorable. Who can resist overly conceited and self important lines like "in the 2G I'm all about myself, self I'm all about you"???"
Legends of Rap Trading Card Deck
1 recommendation
"these are so much fun. the artwork is fab- very african barbershop-esque and it's a great gift for any rap /hip hop music lover. So fabulously eighties!!! details: This set has been making lots of noise both because of its subject matter and its impeccable execution. Each card depicts an old school hip-hop legend (DJ Red Alert, Grandmaster DST, Run DMC, Fab 5 Freddy, Bambaataa) in a super-..."
Musiq Soulchild- Dontchange

"" Don't Change " Musiq Yeah this song will save you out of a bad fight about where the relationship may be going ...my suggestion is not to use it until you really need to."
Anthony Hamilton - Charlene

"" Charlene " Anthony Hamilton I have feelings for this song.......I use to travel and work a bunch when I was just starting my photography career and my ex use to complain about how I was never home. I feel this one ...."
Naked by Marques Houston

"Chillax with this hunk of man meat. These lyrics are brilliant: "Sex with you is like winning in a war after working so damn hard Sex with you is like when the man at the dealer ship hands over the keys to my new car Sex with you is like when I check's up in the mail after been broke for so long""
The Teaches of Peaches, MP3 Album Music Download at eMusic

"So you must be comfortable with bad words because Peaches does have a dirty mouth. The track "f!@#k the pain away" was featured in the movie Lost Translation, it's awesome! You just want to get up and dance away..uh huh!"
Love Me Or Hate Me by Lady Sovereign MP3 Download

"She's the most pretty and petite rapper in town with a sharp tounge and wit to match! This track is ill and pretty funny too!"
New School Hip hop
1 recommendation
"The golden age hip hop or the mid-school rap frames the 1980s when the funk and disco influenced outfits, novelty hits, live bands, synthesizers and party rhymes of artists were rendered old school."
The Cake Tee in White by MindRite
1 recommendation
"I am not a big fan of Lil' Wayne (although I did go through *that* phase) but my friend is, and her birthday is coming up, so this t-shirt is incredibly appropriate. The back says "I got cake like everyday my birthday.""
"I Love Tanzanian Hip Hop" Street Sign
1 recommendation
"I'm a big fan of random, over the top eccentricities and I think this street sign hits the spot. I give it a 4/5 because Ugandan Hip Hop is way iller and these Tanzanian haters need to break themselves."
Too $hort - Get In Where You Fit In
1 recommendation
""Too $hort baby I'm so hard, pimping these h*es on the Boulevard" Ahhh if you miss the sweet sounds of misogyny mixed over funky ass, old school west coast 90's beats then this is your album. "Get Some Lovin'," "Money in the Ghetto", "B****** Betty" and "I'm a Player" are classics."
