REM Eyewear, Los Angeles - Converse Bold

"I've never met a pair of Converse I didn't like... and that includes these beautiful wayfarer-inspired glasses!"
REM-Dreamer - Lucid Dream Induction Device

"If you can manage to fall asleep with this special sleep mask on- it can detect when you reach REM sleep! Using lights to make you aware that you're dreaming- then you can dream up ANYTHING! Imagine that."
Automatic for the People by R.E.M.

"The best band in the world’s best album, Automatic is soul food for my ears. When I’m down, happy, in the mood for Stipe and strings, or whatever the case, I reach for any one of multiple copies I own. I once wrote an entire film script while only listening to Document, another masterpiece."
Murmur by R.E.M.
1 recommendation
"This album reminds me of where I am from and where I am going. In 1989 the rem boys played a benefit concert (as they are want to do) in Georgia: They came out played Green, every single track in order, took a break, came back and played Murmur. They rocked, I rocked, we all rolled."
R.E.M. - Document

"I was twelve years old when this album was released. Twelve years later I was about to move to Athens, Georgia and realized I had never really given R.E.M. a fair chance. Man, was I wrong!"
Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur
1 recommendation
"Good music for a good cause. The roster of artists who contributed to this album reads like a who's-who of rock. Yes, there are some disposable tracks on here as well, but there's something for just about everyone's taste. If you like John Lennon (or even if you aren't that familiar with his work) it's a good album to get."
Monster: R.E.M.
1 recommendation
"Quite possibly my favourite album by REM! I can't quite explain what classic REM sounds like, but this album definitely embodies the earlier sounds with many memorable songs."
Eponymous
1 recommendation
"I didn't hear much R.E.M. until this album was released, by which time they had already had established themselves firmly on the playlists of alternative radio stations. Luckily, this album turned me on to some of their earlier songs and made me aware of just how far the band had come. It was my R.E.M. primer . . . and still is an excellent compilation of their music."

"This song moves me. It makes my heart swell with joy and collapse with sadness all in three minutes. And that's what I consider brilliance."
Zeo - Personal Sleep Coach
1 recommendation
"Ok so maybe it was a little low to grab 'first to recommend'...but here're the details :) Let's keep it simple. It's an alarm clock. So it tells the time (with white on back digits...awesome...) and wakes you up. Oh, but the Zeo (I refuse to call devices as if they're people!) is also a personal sleep trainer, coach and cheerleader all in one. (I could be wrong on the cheerleader part.) It cost..."
Losing My Religion: Jacqui Naylor
1 recommendation
"Jacqui Naylor has a smokey jazz voice that you'll either love or hate - what she does with songs is also something you'll either love or hate. Her rendition of REM's "Losing My Religion" is one I love. There are several on her "You don't know Jacq" disc - Summertime, My Funny Valentine, and How Deep is your Love, for instance."
Syd Barrett Cover Mojo The Music Magazine
1 recommendation
"Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions recorded "Golden Hair" by Syd Barrett (Pink Floyd) for the March 2010 issue of Mojo (UK). "Golden Hair" is from Barrett's 1970 album The Madcap Laughs and is structured around a poem by James Joyce. If you missed the issue the track will be made available at iTunes and a 7" vinyl will be released in the Spring 2010. And if you are reading this in the future beyo..."
