"I didn't hear much R.E.M. until this album was released, by which time they had already had established themselves firmly on the playlists of alternative radio stations. Luckily, this album turned me on to some of their earlier songs and made me aware of just how far the band had come. It was my R.E.M. primer . . . and still is an excellent compilation of their music."
