Stratus - 2006 Red
1 recommendation
"The signature 'assemblage' red wine at Stratus composed from the vineyard's Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Gamay and Syrah. This red, medium-bodied wine is great with roasted rack of lamb or BBQ."
"The Wolftrap" Syrah
1 recommendation
"Yeah, it was the illustration and the name "The Wolftrap" that attracted me to this bottle of Syrah from South Africa. I was questioning the drinkability based on the screw-off bottle cap, but it turns out that it's a good drink, and the screw-off top is extremely practical, if you don't finish the whole bottle in one sitting."

"This site is fantastic! The spies recommend one special wine each day and their wines are always the best wines available. They also sell all of their wines at a discount - and have the best deals anywhere. Customer service is tops and their "Top Secret" wine boxes arrive quickly, and usually with added goodies. I have ordered several times and really recommend them!"
2006 "Boxcar" California Syrah

"I like this wine, and hate taking chances on strange bottles, so when I can find it, I buy it. It's fairly opaque, and looks like blood in your glass because it is unfiltered. It has a very rich, full-mouth flavor. I won't get into all of the tasting notes; I'll just say, it always goes down well. Matches with meals that demand a bold red; try it instead of a cabernet sauvignon. I couldn't find a ..."
2005 Peter Lehmann Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia
1 recommendation
"Definitely one of my favorite syrahs! This wine was introduced to me be a fellow ThisNexter and it was introduced to her through a friend, too. It's an affordable syrah, definitely a full-bodied red but without the tannin overload. Has a silky fruity thing going on and the finish makes you enjoy every second this wine is in your mouth. Gotta go get another bottle... mine's almost empty!"
Sequoia Grove 2007 Sunset Syrah
1 recommendation
"They call this their "summer in a glass" and I couldn't agree more! Imagine a tropical beach or fresh picked strawberries and then bottle it - that is basically what they have done. Mid-range price (better with the wine club)."
Bridlewood Estate Winery - Syrah 2005 (any vintage really)
1 recommendation
"I really like the Syrahs from this winery. They're full-bodied but not overwhelming and don't stick to your tongue on the way down. They usually have a fruity/sweetish undertone, but they're not fruity or sweet. Definitely got that Santa Ynez terroir thing going on--which I happen to dig. Best of all, this one's only $18. They have some better ones, too, but a wine cabinet full of these makes me h..."
Ch. Mont Redon Cotes-du-Rhone 2005
1 recommendation
"god, i hate the fervent patter of wine writers. "...These are offset by slight grilled notes and nuances of licorice, which carry into the persistent finish"? come on, now. this is a strong, fruity red. it's good. drink it. 70% grenache, 20% cinsault, 10% syrah blend."
Red Bicyclette Syrah 2004

"I very much enjoy a good table wine. This wine is very drinkable and has the lovely flavors of blackberry jam. It is wine that is good for people that don’t know much about wine but want something that will go with most foods or that is just sip-able by the glass. This is certainly a good one to try. It’s spicy flavor is great for the fall season!"
The Red Wine Diet

"A diet that prescribes drinking red wine? Sign me up! But no, it's not exactly a diet to lose weight. It's a plan to live long and healthy. Roger Corder's Red Wine Diet reveals that compounds called procyanidins are the key components of wine for preventing illness. However, it's not just any red wine. Grape variety, wine-making style, and other factors, can affect levels of procyanidins. Is..."
Jaffurs Syrah (2005)
1 recommendation
"We were recently introduced to this wine at a tasting room in Los Olivos, which is in the mountains just north of Santa Barbara. Our host considered it "What a Syrah should be", and Wine Spectator has given it a 90 point rating. I'm not a professional wine critic, but I found it very smooth with incredible flavor, and consider it one of the best Syrah's I've tried so far. Jaffurs doesn't mak..."
san simeon syrah (2002)
1 recommendation
"que syrah, shiraz! i love syrahs for how beautifully dark and deep their color is and the spicy, peppery flavor. san antonio winery is one of the last remaining wineries in the los angeles basin. they are a family-run business that grows grapes all over california and makes wine in paso robles and los angeles."
Andrew Murray Syrah

"Just tasted the 'Tous les Jours' and it was not just priced right but was an amazing sryah. I will let you in on a hint: Andrew Murray and Tisley are some of the best Syrah's on a consistent basis."

L'Ecole Nº41 ~ A Walla Walla Valley Winery in Washington
1 recommendation
"Subtle and soft, this wine is always a favorite. If you see it on the shelf, grab a bottle and try it out. It needs to sit about 24 hours after opening. So open it, have a glass, and finish the rest the next night. 2005 recess red 42% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Syrah, 11% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot, 1% Carmenère"
Yellow Tail Shiraz
