there are a few things that are a bit inexplicable when it comes to my obsession with them. handbags people get, shoes people understand, lip glosses are like second nature. but, could someone please let me know what it is with me and wallets? every year i get a new one. is it because i just haven't found the right one? maybe. i have been using a fabulous one from matt & nat for the past little while and although it is probably one of the best i've ever used in regard to design and functionality - i guess the amount of wear and tear it gets with a girl like me just didn't give it a fighting chance. so once again i'm loooking for a stylish yet sturdy pocket book - and i think this mabel wallet from angela adams might just do the trick - pretty to look at and functional.

Love this design... Angela Adams has created a line of studio rugs that retain her signature relief and texture, but at a fraction of the cost. All rugs are hand tufted in India, and a super color saturated. Each rug is 100% wool and is fully backed. These are the answer to our need for a gorgeous modern rug at a reasonable price.

I've been a big fan of Angela Adam's rugs since she first blessed modern homes with her carved and raised wool rugs. What began with the Kenga and the Munjoy, has turned into a staple for modern homes and designers everywhere. She now makes many sizes and some less expensive versions in cotton for the kitchen or laundry room. And has some new designs out like the Fern.

While most girls say that their style icon is Gewn, Mischa or one of the various Jessica's, I can proudly say that my personal style icon is tom Ford. Yes, Tom Ford the fashion designer, and man. While I have a glaringly obvious lack of a 'Y' chomosome, I do also have a gflaringly obvious eye for fashion, and Tom Ford knows fashion. I really wish I also knew Tom Ford. In nearly every picture I see of him, he is incredibly polished, and super weel dressed. His clothes are clean and have fantastic, in control straight lines. The colours he wears are classic, and his face is chiseled, and sure of what he's doing, and hwere he's going. I really wish I could look like that every day. Right now, I've got massive bags under my eyes, and my back hurts. But, if I did look like that every day, I would so it with this Hannah bag by Angela Adams. It's made out of 100% post industrial recycled polyester. That's the good part. The bad part is that it's got a leather interior. I don't eat animals, and I certainly don't wear them either (except vintage. Vintage leather and fur is okay.) In any case, my point here is that I'm a little tired of half-way-kinda-sorta eco friendly stuff. Give me 100% recycled darn it. Psh! I should just design my own line of preloved fabric handbags. Maybe I'd even get away with selling then for $230.00 a pop.

Started in 2000 as a website, Velocity Art and Design morphed into a store in 2003 and is now the ideal setting for all things modern in design. Located in the Belltown district of Seattle, here you’ll come upon all the regulars: Akari lights by Isamu Noguchi, rugs by Angela Adams, pillows by Thomas Paul, vinyl floor coverings by Chilewich, bedding by Dwell, as well as more unusual and one-of-a-kind pieces by contemporary artists. The front section of the store is a gallery with exhibitions that rotate every six to eight weeks. But don’t forget Velocity’s roots; you can find most of store’s items for sale on its website, www.velocityartanddesign.com.

When “design nuts” Drew Sanocki and Sina Djafar launched Edge Modern, a Web-based company dedicated to modern furnishings and bedding, their well-edited offerings quickly won the attention of modernist design devotees like Sherry Black. “I was trying to track down a specific rug for a restaurant client and I needed it in short order,” says the Wilmington, NC, interior designer, who discovered Edge Modern during her search. “After one conversation with Drew and Sina—and no luck with the rug—I trusted them to help me choose another one, which turned out to be perfect.” Now the pair are flinging open the “doors” of their cyber store to hold an ongoing design town meeting. The expanded and renamed site, www.designpublic.com, will continue to offer selections from both well-known design sources (Blu Dot, Dwell, Angela Adams) and lesser-known ones (Variegated, John Kelly Furniture). But users can also click their way into forums, photo galleries, chats with guest designers, blogs on new products and primers demystifying such subjects as thread counts. “I want the site to be as interactive as possible, one where customers can share information, opinions and resources with one another,” says Sanocki, who has been known to direct clients away from his site and to Ikea for certain products. This kind of openness may explain why Sherry Black and other designers and architects plan to keep up with the ongoing designpublic.com conversation.
