It's not often that I find a nonfiction book that reads like a thriller, but I couldn't put this one down. The story is about the MIT blackjack team, a group of college students who worked together to win millions of dollars gambling in Las Vegas and elsewhere in the 90s. Like other casino games, blackjack odds usually favor the house. But blackjack is unique in that the odds shift back and forth between players and the house depending on prior cards. The MIT group used a low betting "spotter" to count the cards, who would then signal a "big player" to come in and make huge bets only when the odds favored the players. The casinos don't like losing, and their tactics for dealing with the students provide most of the story's drama. Money, gambling, math nerds, strippers and vegas thugs - makes for a great story.

A cookbook for people who want to know what's going on, not just what steps to follow to make something. If you're willing to be a little creative, you can combine the techniques described in this book to assemble great meals based on what you KNOW, instead of what's printed on some little card. Loads of great food history and food science makes this book a must-have for anyone who wants to be more capable in the kitchen.

There's no doubt about it, this show is legend...(wait for it)...dary! I'll be the first to admit that I'm not always a fan of really "sitcomy" shows. You know, with laugh tracks and such. However this show seems to make it work. Sure, the jokes are often predictable, but they always hit. It's definitely a feel good show that is really brought together with Neil Patrick Harris's Barney.

I know I hate spending money on maternity clothes. I mean, they're only useful for a few months, right? Well, this shirt is made with a touch of spandex and an empire waistline to be forgiving for your expanding belly during pregnancy.. but makes a great tunic after pregnany as well. 92% bamboo ensures that it's super-soft (plus earth-friendly as a renewable resource). And, if your a nursing mommy, the stylish ruched waistband lifts up to provide access for baby without baring your belly.

No big surpises here- I love the Nano and use it extensively in my car to listen to podcasts and audiobooks. Because I don't have a direct connection to my car stereo, the audio quality in my car is not great for music but it is fine for spoken word stuff. The software is also good in that it remembers where you were in a track so you can skip around betweenn audiobooks w/out losing your place.

I've had this on my desk for a couple of weeks now, and it really does keep information I need right at eye level for me. My to-do list goes on a sticky note on it. I put my planner there, open to the calendar monthly view, so I don't lose track of upcoming appointments and events. I can also put things in it to get them out of my way when I need more desk space. It's a good place to put my palm pilot so I don't lose track of it. I'm still playing around with this one, discovering how to put it to best use for me. Overall, a useful product for a reasonable price.
