Carrots, Carrots everywhere! At night when I’m watching television I like to do smaller projects and I’ve been knitting things for Easter. I’ve tried several carrots as you can see from the pictures. For the large carrot I use the cascade 220 Orange, 100% Wool worsted Weight: and for the smaller carrots I used Gjestal Ullteppegarn 39 orange 100% wool fingering yarn. Three of my carrots are knit and one is crocheted. I like the look of the knitted carrot best. I’ve never written a pattern before, so bear with me. I like using the wooden needles because the yarn does not slip off of these as easily as it does plastic or metal. I just named the yarns I used, but you can use any worsted weight wool and fingering wool you would like or what you have her stash. I would love it if you’d experiments with crochet and knitting and if you come up with an easy pattern please share it with us.

At long last, a social network that I can actually USE! Ravelry replaces my tattered and ill-kept knitting project journal with an online version that plays nice with Flickr -- allowing me to compulsively catalog each stage of each project, keep a queue of what projects I've got coming up, catalog my stash for trades/sales/destashing and log my pattern books. I can also search for who else has knit any pattern and see what they have to say about it, any modifications they made, etc. It's more useful (in a hundred ways) and actually takes less time than maintaining a manual record. Yay, technology!

I've been looking for a knitting/crochet pattern for felt balls since I saw these super cute Japanese felt ball necklaces being worn in jdramas and mags. This etsy seller offered free shipping which I couldn't refuse, plus it is way easier to buy them already felted and in assorted colors than to try to buy all of that yarn and spend the time felting them just right. Now all I have to do is string them and possibly adorn them with mini embellishments like embroidery!
