Yeah yeah, just another eco-friendly shopping bag right? WRONG! Not only can these amazingly huge shopping bags hold your entire grocery car, but for every bag purchase money is donated to The Green Ambassadors which provides high school students with experiences that foster personal growth, community service, cross–culture and global exchange and leadership skills to tackle the most critical environmental issues facing our planet. It's made from 100% recycled materials, completely durable, and so easy to keep clean. Unlike many reusable bags (which are just as eco-friendly) the design of this bag is a great positive message to love this planet. It's nothing tacky or sarcastic, just positive love for this world. What else could you want? If not buying this for yourself gift your friends with this wonderful bag.

At Planet Furniture, designer Ross Longmuir both minds the shop and creates some of the striking pieces available for purchase. Longmuir’s streamlined chests, nightstands and stereo storage units are constructed of spotted gum, a local hardwood, that is peeled into 3-millimeter layers and crossbanded into boards. The technique combines the strength and weather-resistance of MDF but not its crumbly veneer; the resulting caramel-colored furniture is as sturdy as solid wood and will develop a rich patina over time. Planet Furniture lovingly showcases its wares with artwork, ceramics and even stuffed animals in studied vignettes.

I have been using these for a month now. I am trying to reduce getting plastic bags at the grocery store. These scrunch up small into their own case and can handle loads to 25 lbs each! They are strong, light and easy to carry. My only problem is remembering to take them with me when I shop! Doh!

Everybody needs one of these. With the US and China (whose middle class is growing exponentially) we need to be carrying reusable cloth biodegradable bags, instead of the plastic that ends up in landfills for hundreds of years. This is a MUST HAVE!!!

I purchased two Lonely Planet city guides (Kyoto and Tokyo) for our recent trip to Japan. I really liked the layout and organization of the books. I wish though that there were more "walking guides" like in the Frommer's guidebooks. What was most helpful were the transportation hints that are listed with each sight. While most of the directions assume that you are starting at a central location (e.g. Tokyo Station), they definitely helped provide a hint that you can work along with additional subway/bus route guides to figure out your gameplan. I used the Kyoto book far more than the Tokyo one mainly because we saw more of the traditional sight-seeing sights there. In tokyo, we did more shopping and wandering.

Frequently changing exhibitions feature what the founders, Rhonda Howard and Rebecca Richards, call “everyday art.” Items for sale include one-of-a-kind works as well as limited-editions prints, paintings, photographs, sculpture and installation art.

An alternative to the artsy Manayunk neighborhood in Philadelphia is the dreamlike Chestnut Hill, the heart of which is tidy Germantown Avenue. First stop on this cobblestone-lined street is the Philadelphia Print Shop, founded in 1982 by Donald H. Cresswell and Christopher W. Lane, a Library of Congress veteran and budding philosopher, respectively. The duo, whom you might have seen on Antiques Road Show, has amassed a collection of prints dating from the fifteenth through the nineteenth centuries. Woodcuts, engravings and lithographs feature famous Philadelphians, botanicals and antique maps.

My cousin discovered Card Shop in a Box 4 years ago at Costco. My local store didn't have it so I had to hunt them down through a Yahoo storefront and wait several months before they became available. Let me stress that these cards are beautiful, whimsical and completely handcrafted. It's the perfect thing to have on hand for those, "oh crap, i need a card" moments. Weddings, showers, birthdays (even ones for kids), get well...you name it. Wonderful detailing that's carried from the card to the envelope. And the best thing? The price. Boring drugstore cards can run you $3-4 where as these work out about $1 a card and look better than anything you'll find at Hallmark. Another bonus? They make awesome gifts because of the price point. Know a busy mom? Busy friend? This is the ideal gift. Bulk up for Christmas!
