Since I don't go anywhere without my digital camera, and I use rechargeable batteries every day, I could not do without buying batteries every single day, so rechargeable batteries are wonderful. When I'm through with my camera, I just go home, plug my charger (with the batteries in it) and I am all set to go for another day.

My favorite of the big box stores. Costco membership is the perfect thing to ask your relatives who don't know you very well for your birthday or Christmas. Costco has everything from groceries to appliances to clothing. Besides the mystifyingly large containers of emerald green relish, they have bulk meat, veggies, cheese, eggs, and so on. If you have kids, this is a great place to stock up on juice boxes and packets of pretzels for their lunch. You can also pick up a vacuum cleaner or a queen-sized bed, or a best seller list book if the urge strikes you. Costco, like other big box stores, is best visited on weekdays. I've found that going in the hour before they close keeps me from spending too much and from having episodes of shopping cart rage when the family of five parks both of their carts perpendicular to the aisle. In some states, Costco has wine, beer and liquor. The prices are good.

I'm a sucker for live and acoustic albums and versions of songs I love. The Fray's "How to Save a Life" is one of the best, if not the best, albums of the year and this live "Bootleg" holds up. The Fray sounds so great! It makes me feel like I'm actually at one of their concerts - and a pretty intimate one at that!

I saw a demo of this sleek blender a few days ago and I am impressed! First, its so much quieter than the lawnmower blenders we have in our kitchens. Quiet as it may be, it still packs a lot of power. Electronic controls, surgical steel, lcd display, timer and a heat resistant pitcher capped with a neat looking lid... just add ice, tequila and your favorite mixer!

I am a huge fan of those stores where you can purchase “Big name designer brands (too great to mention) at low, low prices”- it’s my thing. I don’t believe in full price, or department stores – except for in the most dire of fashion emergencies. So, my most fabulous retail conquests have occurred in Century 21, Anbar and Filene’s Basement. I mean, any fool can score at Saks, but it takes a true genius to score in-season Gucci pumps for 80 bucks in the trenches of Century 21. Next thing, I am a true believer in seasonal underwear. Not something I’d generally spend a great deal of time pondering, but after mistakenly rocking a pair of more-appropriate-under-corduroys-than-under-thin-cotton-skinny-pants boyshorts a few days ago, I am now a believer in seasonally appropriate underwear. So, seasonally appropriate underwear - seamless panties, convertible bras, a reeeeaaally good strapless bra, slips for my floaty dresses, a bunch of new camisoles, a new crop of boxer briefs (for my hubby) + Big name designer brands (too great to mention) at low, low prices"= the Bare Necessities Summer Sale...it starts tomorrow!

Omax3 is one of the most pure fish oils on the market today. Omega fish oils are an amazing nutritional supplement. If you are taking fish oils, you should be really concerned with the saturated fats they contain. I had no idea about this issue until I learned about Omax3. It was developed at yale. You can get it at Vuru.com. The best part is you can get it and whatever else you are taking made into custom vitamin packs at no additional cost.

I would like, if I may, to take you on a strange journey. No, not over at the Frankenfurter Place. Silly you. This audio CD would actually be an even STRANGER journey. Click through to the strangeattractor product listing and listen free to three sample tracks in mp3 format. This is the perfect background track for, well, anything. Anything dark and sinister with oversized exposed clockworks and clouds of steam coming out of grates and curling around ladies' ankle boots. The organ and the persistent percussive strings kind of make it sound like if a resurrected Bernard Herrman or not-bored Danny Elfman scored a new Sherlock movie, set in Sing Sing on the night of a failed electrocution. I can also hear it being played through a Victrola at Arkham in an Elseworld's Gotham by Gaslight. The retailer calls it: "...psychogeographic investigation into a world of abandoned Underground stations, Quatermass, seventeenth century secret societies and the footsore reveries of a modern Flâneur. ... The booklet features liner notes by the author Lawrence Norfolk (Lemprière's Dictionary, The Pope's Rhinoceros) and incredible centre spread artwork by Julian House."

The Wildhearts are my favorite band on the planet! Get this CD and see why (and also wonder why they are not global superstars). After waiting for 7 years I finally got to see them recently at Fat City in San Francisco and all I can say is they did not disappoint. Ginger (singer) is the best songwriter on the planet. If you don't know the Wildhearts, boy are you missing out!
