Now, here’s a trick on how to carry your clutch in style. DON’T put them under your armpit. Gosh, I must say it’s one of my pet peeves. SO not attractive! Instead, carry it elegantly in your hand, or if you’d like you can also hug it close to your chest once in a while, especially when you’re in standing position. And if you feel like bragging about your newbie, you can hold it as if you’re holding a fan and lift your hand up a little to get that hot posture ; ) Anyways, enough of this little advice, let’s talk about this newest clutch from Juicy Couture. Style, check. Size, check. Color, check. Material, check. Wow, that pretty much covers everything I need to look for in a clutch. Made of their famous velour fabric and accented with snake-embossed leather trim and fabulous rhinestones, this charming accessory is available in 2 colors; pale pink and gray. I don’t know about you but I’ll go with the pink. More pictures after the click! US$88.

By Kathleen Hackett and Mary Ann Young. Artisan, hardcover $22.95, softcover $14.95 O junk hounds, back-alley prowlers, garage sale addicts and all tenderhearted toward cast-offs, rejoice: Your bible is here, or at least its first book. The Salvage Sisters’ Guide to Finding Style in the Street and Inspiration in the Attic, by EOL contributor Hackett and her sister, is, like its title, full of good news: It’s clever to turn an old prom gown into a dressing table skirt, plant silk blossoms in a cane chair seat, replace a mantel mirror and objets with explosions of ball fringe, and perform many another minor decorating miracles with what’s often right under one’s nose. After this genesis, the Salvage Sisters will pick up plenty of converts.

Marion Nestle wrote the definitive volume on Food Politics (really, that's the title), and I think her latest book, What To Eat, does a nice job of explaining how the issues affecting our nation's food supply touch us on a personal level every time we visit the grocery store. A recommended read for anyone who's having difficulty navigating all the different food movements.

Imagine being able to put your entire library online so that people could check out what books you have (and you, in turn, could check out theirs). Library voyeurism... That's what LibraryThing is all about. Of course, if you're like me, you never get around to entering your entire book collection: you only dream of that magical day when all your books will be entered into LibraryThing and your electronic library will be neat and orderly -- unlike your real-world library, which is probably constantly outgrowing the real-world bookshelves in your real-world life. But it's a nice fantasy to carry around in your head if you're a book lover, like me.

Still my favorite little digital for taking on the go when you don't want to lug the SLR around. What I love about this camera, and what Canon doesn't see to carry on in any new models, are the wide-angle lens combined with the Image Stabilization. This camera is perfect for vacation shots in gorgeous surroundings. It has the widest angle out of any little point and shoots so you'll get that great shot of the panoramic landscapes or the whole Eiffel Tower. Plus with the stabilization, you can be in a dimmer situation and still get some clear shots. It's not going to completely fix it but you have a much better chance. On top of it all, the megapixels are plenty to give a great 11x14 or larger at times.
